O Antiphon~ Emmanuel

Over the course of this past week we have prayed these antiphons, hearing Jesus named by many wonderful and deserving titles, but today as we pray the last of the O Antiphons, I believe we call Him by the most hopeful of all titles: Emmanuel~God with us. This title is a constant reminder to us that God wants to be and truly is with us. Jesus promised us Himself, that He would be with us until the end of time.
So yes, God is with us. As Advent comes to a close, let us thank our great God for being with us, and beg Him to stay with us.
Maranatha~Come Lord Jesus!

Emmanuel (God With Us)

O Emmanuel, our King and our Law-giver, Longing of the Gentiles, yea, and salvation thereof, come to save us, O Lord our God!

Scripture

Isaias 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son and his name shall be called Emmanuel.

I love the name Emmanuel. I don't know if it is because of the song O Come O Come Emmanuel but something about it is so ... holy. Thank you for sharing, and have a wonderful Christmas!
